Creating and applying PM exclusion conditions

PM Exclusion Conditions in Asset Essentials are used to define events that allow the system to halt PM work order generation for a specific amount of time. Account Admins and Global Admins are able to create the list of PM Exclusion Conditions at the account level. PM Exclusion Conditions can be applied at the Site level or when adding and editing a PM.

How to create a PM exclusion condition

  • Click on the Admin menu icon, then select Configurations.
  • In the Misc section, click on Exclusion Conditions.
  • Click the New button.
  • Enter a Name for the PM Exclusion Condition.
  • Select if you want the PM Exclusion Condition to be Non-Recurring or Recurring. *Note: Your choice will determine whether you enter a Start and End date or a Recurrence Pattern.
  • Enter a Description, if necessary.

 

 

  • If you chose Non-Recurring, select a Start Date and End Date using the calendar drop-down.
  • If you chose Recurring, enter the yearly Recurrence Pattern.
    • Enter the number of years in the Every _ Year(s) field.
    • Choose from the following two options: 
      • (January) (1) - Example: For PMs that need to be halted on December 25th of every year, enter Every (1) Years and (December) (25).
      • The (First) (Monday) of (January) - Example: For PMs that need to be halted on the first weekday in May every other year, enter Every (2) Years and The (first) (weekday) of (May).

  • Click Save.
  • To deactivate a PM Exclusion Condition, uncheck the Active box. *Note: You cannot delete a PM Exclusion Condition once it is active within a site or PM.

How to apply a PM exclusion condition to a site

  • Click on the Admin menu icon, then select Sites.
  • Select the appropriate site from the list.

Site Closure

You can use this section to indicate a time range that will halt all PM work order generation for a specific site. The next PM work order generation will take place on the next scheduled cycle after the site closure date has passed.

  • Enter the dates the site will be closed using the From and To fields in the PM Exclusion Conditions section.
  • Click Save at the top of the page.

 

PM Exclusion Conditions

You can use this section to apply PM Exclusion Conditions created at the account level to the site in order to halt PM work order generation for a specific amount of time.

  • To apply all active PM Exclusion Conditions to the Site, check the Apply all account level exclusions box.
  • To apply specific PM Exclusion Conditions to the Site, click the Select Exclusion Condition icon ().
    • Check the box next to the PM Exclusion Condition(s) you would like to apply to this Site.
    • Click Select at the top of the window.
    • Click Save at the top of the page.
    • Click OK in the confirmation window that appears to finalize your changes.

 

How to apply a PM exclusion condition to a PM

  • Click on the Work Orders menu icon, then select PM/PdM.
  • Select the appropriate PM from the list. *Note: Only "Time-Based" and "Time-Based with MR Override" PMs will allow PM Exclusion Conditions to be applied.
  • Scroll down to the Exclusion Conditions section.
  • To apply all active site level PM Exclusion Conditions, select the Apply site level exclusions option. A grid will display including all active PM Exclusion Conditions that will be applied to this PM. *Note: If the PM has multiple sites, then this option will be disabled.

 

 

  • To apply specific PM Exclusion Conditions to the PM, check the Apply PM level exclusions box.
  • Click the Select Exclusion Condition icon ().
    • Check the box next to the PM Exclusion Condition(s) you would like to apply to this PM.
    • Click Select at the top of the window.
    • Click Save at the top of the page.
    • Click OK in the confirmation window that appears to finalize your changes.

 

 

  • Choose from the following two options in the To generate WO section: 
    • on next scheduled date (skip this cycle): The next PM work order generation will take place on the next scheduled cycle after the PM Exclusion Condition date has passed.
    • on next work day: The next PM work order generation will take place on the next day, including weekends, that does not include any exclusions.
  • Click Save at the top of the page.
